IBEW Local 103 Signs Historic New Contract
In June 2003, Business Manager Mike Monahan was proud to lead a team of Local 103 negotiators in securing a new three-year contract with NECA representing historic gains in wage increases and benefit levels.
-
Apprenticeship Rates: Recognizing the growing burdens of personal and family obligations for many first year apprentices, Local 103 negotiated an agreement that allows apprentices to access more of their earnings earlier in their training program.
- Overtime: After operating under rules and guidelines for overtime developed over 40 years ago, a few contractors and members in recent years began to question these guidelines and develop their own rules. The overtime rules that we’ve all worked under in Local 103 for the past 40 years have now been formalized and ratified in our new contract.
- Wages and Benefits: The total increase of wage and benefits over the next three years for Local 103 members is $9.00 per hour! This represents the most significant short term increase in the history of our Local and will ensure that the overall compensation package for our electricians continue to lead the industry.
