Upcoming Work Edition 1

In this edition of Upcoming Work - we head on out to Boston's Seaport District where, thanks to Mayor Menino's hard work, three bio-tech companies and financial giant JP Morgan are all planning new construction projects.

From there,  Joe Fallon's 18 story Fan-Pier project has begun also, in very close proximity to the Seaport District Jobs.  The job spans 21-acres, has a budget of $125 Million and an estimated completion date of 2009.

The Longwood Medical Area will soon look a little bit different, when the Joslin Diabetes Center block adds a new 335,000 square-foot building, complete with more than 8,000 square-feet of restaurant and retial space.  Groundbreaking will be in late 2009 with an estimated completion date of 2011.

Finally, work on the old South Weymouth Naval Air Force Station has finally begun.  This job is said to go on until well into 2017 and has been declared one of the major "growth districts" in the state by Governor Deval Patrick.  LNR Property Corporation, the sites developer, has plans in the works for 2,800 homes and 2 million square-feet of space.
