Expanding Our Influence

Even the infrequent commuter on the Southeast Expressway is familiar with the "Local 103 Sign." For years it has been utilized to promote everything from political candidates to charitable events. Perhaps its most visible use has been highlighting the unfair work practices of deserving companies. Under the innovative leadership of Mike Monahan, this sign has become an even more powerful tool in the negotiations of our business agents, effectively expanding the influence that our membership have in markets across the region.

Increasing Our Membership
There’s no doubt that the most direct means of growing our market share and creating the most job opportunities for our members is to persuade more contractors to hire union electricians and technicians.

Increasing Our Market Share
The numbers back it up, members of Local 103 are working on Market Recovery jobs everyday, more jobs are being created through Pension Investments and market share of total available electrician hours has increased.

Members to Business Initiative
There are two primary ways to increase the number of signatory contractors to Local 103 - either convince existing contractors to join or help emerging businesses get off the ground. Mike Monahan has escalated the Members to Business Initiative to new heights and the results are making us stronger from within.
